THE OFFICIAL GAMEPLAY GUIDE
How to play
Metal Ball Race.
Metal Ball Race is a physics-based marble racing game. Choose a colorful metal ball, follow eight automatic racers through obstacle courses, and cheer your little champion onto the podium.
1. Choose the ball you're cheering for.
Before a race, pick one of the eight balls as your supported racer. Its finishing position is your result. The balls move automatically, so you can focus on the race and the moment an ability might make a difference.
2. Watch the track change the race.
Curves, slopes, narrow passages, and moving obstacles shape each run. The metal balls share the track, and collisions can change their order. A good start is only part of the story: keep an eye on the next turn and the finish line.
3. Aim for the top three.
Your supported ball must finish first, second, or third to clear the course. A podium finish earns points and lets you choose one of three reward boxes. Collect the fragments you receive to work toward new skins and abilities.
4. Build a collection with personality.
Craft a skin with six matching skin fragments. Ability crafting uses six fragments of the same type and tier. You can also earn achievement skins by meeting their in-game requirements. Cosmetic skins change your appearance without changing your ball's racing ability.
5. Find your tactical moment.
Unlock wind, rain, hail, snow, and magnet abilities as your collection grows. When an ability is available, watch the positions of the racers and choose when to release it. It's another decision to enjoy alongside the automatic race.
Nine worlds. Eighty-one courses.
The chapter journey contains nine worlds with nine courses each. Start in the Wood Workshop, take a route through Cloud Glass and the Polar Weather Station, then discover foundries, rainforest ruins, a harbor, a skyport, a moon lab, and the Four Seasons Sky.
Take a tour of all nine chapter themes
Questions before the starting line?
Do I steer the ball?
The balls race automatically. You choose the ball you're supporting, watch how the physics unfolds, and use unlocked abilities when they're available.
Does a new skin make my ball faster?
No. Cosmetic skins change the look of your ball without improving its racing ability.
